Palo Alto Airport Association

Palo Alto Airport Association, Chapter of California Pilots Association and its affiliates (“PAAA” “we,” “our,” and/or “us”) value the privacy of individuals who use our website at https://paloaltoairport.org/ (“Site”).  This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and share personal information from or about PAAA users or their devices.  By using our Site, you agree to the collection, use, disclosure, sharing, and procedures this Privacy Policy describes.  Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of our Site may also be subject to additional terms.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect a variety of information from or about you or your devices from various sources, as described below.

A. Information You Provide to Us

Communications and Subscriptions.  If you contact us directly, we may receive other personal information about you.  For example, when you contact us to learn more about PAAA, we will receive your full name, email address, phone number, how you heard about us, age bracket, and the contents of your message or attachments that you choose to provide to us.  If you subscribe to receive marketing or promotional communications for us (e.g., subscribe to our newsletter or for more information about learning how to fly) then we will collect certain information from you, such as your full name, email address, city of residence, and selected subgroup preferences to personalize your communications.  When we send you emails, we may use embedded pixels or other technologies to track information about your receipt and interaction with our emails, such as whether and when you open them, whether you access any links included in our emails, how long you read our emails, whether you forward our emails and to whom, your Location Information (described below), and your Device Information (described below), to learn how to deliver a better customer experience and improve our Site.

Comment.  If you leave comments to our Site, we will collect the information provided in the comments form, including your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.  Additionally, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.  The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.  After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media Uploads.  If you upload images or other media to our Site, please avoid including embedded location data (e.g., EXIF GPS), as visitors to the Site may download and extract any location data from images on our Site.

Careers.  If you decide to apply for a job with us, you may submit your contact information and your resume online.  We will collect the information you choose to provide on your resume or application, such as your education and employment experience.  You may also apply through a third-party service such as LinkedIn.  If you do so, we will collect any information you make available to us via such third-party platform.

Payment Information.  If you make a payment through our Site, such as to donate to PAAA, your payment-related information, such as credit card or other financial information necessary to complete your payment (“Payment Information”), is processed by our third-party payment processor (e.g., PayPal).

B. Information We Collect When You Use Our Site

Usage Information.  To help us understand how you use our Site and to help us improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with our Site, like the pages or other content you view, and the dates and times of your visits.

Information from Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.  We and our third-party partners collect information about your activities on our Site using cookies, pixel tags, SDKs, or other tracking technologies.  Our third-party partners, such as analytics, advertising, and security partners, may also use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different services.
