FAQ
Q: What is the best way to get to Airport Day?
A: Due to the popularity of this event, the smart way in and out will be on two wheels! Consider using the public trails to enjoy the open view across the Baylands while spotting incoming aircraft in the sky on your way in! A free bicycle corral will be provided and monitored by volunteers from the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition.
Q: If we drive, is there parking?
A: Vehicle parking is limited but free. See parking map on the event page.
Q: How accessible is this event?
A: The event is outdoors on flat asphalt with no steps, minimal gradient, like a very large parking lot. The event area is about 200 yards in the longest direction. Accessible parking will be available close to the event entrance for those requiring it. See parking map on the event page.
Q: What should I wear?
A: We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes. Review weather conditions including temperature, wind, and sun, and consider clothing, hat, sunscreen.
Q: What food will be available.
A: Several food trucks ($) will be on site.
Q: Will there be restrooms?
A: Portable restrooms will be provided. About 10% will be wheelchair accessible and meet ADA requirements.
Q: Will there be shelter or somewhere to sit?
A: Shelter will be available. There will be tables and chairs in the open hangar (a giant garage with its door open) where you can sit and enjoy your food.

Airport Day is an annual event organized by volunteers from the Palo Alto Airport Association (PAAA) in partnership with the Airport Division of the City of Palo Alto Public Works Dept, airport based businesses, and FAA Air Traffic Control. The event is free to the public courtesy of the City, PAAA member contributions and commercial sponsors. Donations are appreciated and enable the event to return next year.
